Owl uses a number of files and folders. Some of these are in the personal configuration folders while others are maintained in the system areas.

Files

owl-settings.ini

The owl-setting.ini file stores settings and custome configuration. This file can be specified on the command-line with the -i switch (ie. -i C:\Test\Folder\owl-settings.ini. If the -i switch is not passed, Owl will load the owl-settings.ini file from the user's data path. If the owl-settings.ini file is missing then Owl will fail to load.

Note: Future versions of Owl will create a default version owl-settings.ini if the file is not found (OWL-129).

settings.xml

The settings.xml file contains settings for Owl that typically do not change. This file should not be edited without first understanding its content, since an invalid configuration can cause Owl to malfunction.

Owl uses standard folders configured for each OS. Most files are stored in the user specific
